I Love You

2015, video

Video documentation investigating how time, point of view, and emotions interpret the same set of memories into two different stories. I interviewed my parents individually, asking the same questions in regards to their courtship before marriage, and seeing how after almost fifty years, how their answers differ due to how they interpret incidents, how well they remember, and their current animosity towards each other. Most importantly, trying to get them to say, "I love you" to each other.

The interview is transcribed and given to actors for voice over. Actors were not given any information about the project, and read the transcipts cold.

Special thanks to Liz Fisher and Robert Matney for voice over.
